Either way, they run out of the store with the Jellien Clones in pursuit due to them catching on, with Mr. Krabs can either leave by creating a diversion or attempt to pay upfront with the right amount of money. Once they have collected enough mayo, Spongebob and Mr. Krabs and safeguards any obtained mayo within the cart. After taking the precaution of covering their shopping cart with a tarp, Spongebob follows close behind Mr. However, the grocery store has been overrun by Jelliens and they must use black-sunglasses (the same pair used in the SpongeBob episode where the Jelliens originated from) to blend into the mindless crowd. Krabs travel to the Barg'N-Mart to purchase as much mayonnaise as they can. The player can choose whether Spongebob skips his test to go jellyfishing with Patrick (and therefore playing the Tutorial level) or continues towards Mrs. Puff's Boating School, finally believing he will do well enough to earn his license, but is interrupted by Patrick and the offer of going jellyfishing with him. Spongebob spends his day before the invasion getting ready for his driving test at Mrs. In the Tutorial level, he is equipped with his Jellyfishing Net (otherwise known as Ol' Reliable) which he uses to catch non-Jellienfied Jellyfish. However, when he is carrying a heavy object, he is both unable to jump or run. Spongebob is the fastest playable character, and is an efficient sprinter and jumper due to his overall speed. When skipping the Tutorial, Spongebob's first playable appearance will be at Spongebob's Pineapple. Otherwise, the first playable character will be Patrick in Glove World. Spanner in the Works: SpongeBob's Rube Goldberg Device was working fine until Bubble Bass's complaint about a wrong order resulted in a Disaster Dominoes effect that destroyed the Krusty Krab's kitchen.Spongebob is the first character the player will take control of in game if they choose to play the Tutorial level.SpongeBob's Rube Goldberg Device is scored to a ukulele cover of Looney Tunes standard "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott.During a montage, SpongeBob passes through the famous painting The Persistence of Memory (the one with the melting clocks). Rube Goldberg Device: SpongeBob builds one out of all the alarm clocks he buys to help him get to work and do his job while he sleeps.Is Serious Business: Krabs immediately assumes that Spongebob has literally died when he doesn’t show up for work on time. Krabs announces that Spongebob has “passed away” and refers to his “passing”. Heavy Sleeper: SpongeBob turns out to be one if he doesn't have his alarm clock to wake him up, which is why he has such a large and loud one.Failure Montage: All of SpongeBob's attempts at using a substitute alarm clock result in SpongeBob arriving to work late.Krabs is not amused and Squidward asks if it's too soon. Squidward gleefully replies "With pleasure." Mr. Krabs assumes the worst when SpongeBob does not make it to work, and he insists they go over to SpongeBob's house to check on his possible remains. After it breaks, he hugs it to defend it from Krabs and Squidward, saying "I can fix it!" As he's fixing it in his front yard, he tells it, "I still love you!" Does This Remind You of Anything?: Some of the earlier dialogue of SpongeBob trying to fix his alarm clock brings to mind an I Can Change My Beloved scenario.Krabs reveals that he will have to open the restaurant an hour later due to SpongeBob not being able to show up on time. Big "NO!": SpongeBob does this when Mr.SpongeBob breaks his precious alarm clock, and nothing else is loud enough to wake him up on time.
